Pupils from Swallow Hill Academy in Armley have been hard at work drafting designs to brighten up an empty shop front on Town Street.
Community group All Together Armley launched a competition for youngsters to design a poster to be blown up and placed on the former Loony Bin joke shop.
Year eight student Kaitlin Peat’s design was picked out as the winner.
Leeds West MP Rachel Reeves, said: “I chose Kaitlin’s design because it brilliantly reflected the environment around the shop front of people waiting for the bus and going about their daily business.”
Gudrun Shemilt, chair of All Together Armley, said: “Kaitlin is a shining example of how the students at Swallow Hill are working with All Together Armley to contribute, influence and improve their community.”
“We can’t wait to see her winning design brightening up Town Street.”
